I make all of my designs from the very elements of the earth; manipulating and forming the raw materials into my interpretation of beauty. I collect and mine the rough gemstone and carry it home, oft times with backpacks. I locate within each rock the gemstone concealed, and cut away the rest. I then shape and cut the rock into a pre-form whereby I then proceed to facet the gem into its final shape polishing each surface of each facet through varied grit resulting in, hopefully a stunning and stylish gemstone with depth, character and solid honest provenance made entirely with focus, skill, and love.
The materials I work with are specifically chosen for their characteristics both physically and spiritually. Chalcedony in particular takes millions upon millions of years to form through an absorption process, lending itself to the idea of being layered with earthly wisdoms untold. It is said to be a stone of peace and calm for the spirit, particularly for children. Also said to be protective and a talisman of luck, this stone has it all. When I work with it I truly feel at peace wishing nothing more than to pass its charms along.
Coupled with pure silver, known for its cleansing nature, again both physically and spiritually, as well as its rumoured ability to amplify and strengthen. The pureness of such a remarkable and noble metal make it a joy to wear. Pure silver I might add will not tarnish and will never stain finger or clothing. It will only oxidize white and will quickly take a polish by hand or cloth to once again reveal its stunning beauty. Considered to be softer than sterling I have employed a work hardening process that stiffens and improved the durability of what I hope becomes someone’s heirloom treasure, handed down.
